Want to Help Wildlife?

Wildlife Response is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to the care of orphaned, injured, and displaced native wildlife since 1992.

What help do we need?

We Need You!  Hotline volunteers are given training on how to assist good Samaritans looking to help injured or orphaned wildlife get the care they need.  Sometimes that may mean assisting to reconnect the baby with their mother.  Other times it may be advising them how to get the animal to veterinary care.  Or it could be coordinating with one of our rehabbers and getting the wildlife to them to be cared for until it can be released back into the wild.

What is the function of the hotline?

To provide a central hotline number to those seeking to get care for wildlife. This enables them to make one call and receive the assistance they need, and not waste valuable hours trying to find someone who can help. The hotline volunteers are the frontline first responders in saving lives of those in need and getting wildlife to the nearest rehabilitator or vet who can assess and care for their needs in order to return to nature.

What is required of volunteers?

Volunteers are only asked to spend a few hours per week to answer phone calls from the comfort of their home. Training is included and a support network is always available to help. Volunteering for the hotline gives you the satisfaction of knowing you helped wildlife that may have not survived otherwise get the help it needs to thrive.
